Are you looking for a Porsche 911 GT3 for sale?

The first Porsche that bore the “GT3” nametag was introduced in 1999 as part of the 996 model range.

It was a road car focused on racing and named after the FIA GT3 Class, for which it was designed to race in. It was a lightweight car with items that added extra weight removed, such as rear seats, rear speakers, sunroof, radio and air conditioner, although all South African cars were spec’d with air conditioner and a radio. There was almost no sound deadening in the car in a further attempt to lose weight. The engine was the famous “Mezger” engine designed by Hans Mezger. The 3,L flat six boxer engine developed 265 kW or 360Hp. The car weighed only 1350kg. Top speed was 302km/h and zero to 100 took only 4,8 seconds!

This specific car is a 2004 model and has done only 63 000 kms from new. This is the MK2 996 GT3 with the 380Hp engine. Better down force was achieved with a new design front bumper, new side skirts and a new rear wing. Clutch operation was a little easier on the MK2 and ground clearance was improved. Other cosmetic changes included the new headlamp design, new design rims and the car now also had a cubbyhole in the interior. The car is finished in Carrara white with a black all leather interior with beautiful bucket seats. On this car the, mirror heads and the rims were painted black, and the car was also fitted with the carbon fiber rear wing from the GT3RS.

Not many MK2 996 GT3’s came to South Africa, and they are becoming somewhat rare in the Pre-Owned market. In my opinion, values on these can only go up. Don’t miss the opportunity to own this special car!

Please take note that all cars can be viewed at showroom by appointment only.
