1987 Porsche Carrera 3.2 Targa

In 1984 Porsche replaced the 3.0L 911SC with the 3.2L Carrera, using the Carrera name for the first time since 1977.

A higher displacement motor was used in the new car. The volume was achieved with the same bore size as in the 3.0L engine, namely 95mm but with 74.4mm stroke and combined with the camshafts from the 1978 3.3L Turbo. Higher domed pistons increased the compression ratio and a new inlet manifold and exhaust system were fitted. The 915 gearbox from the 911 SC was retained for the first models and was only changed to the G50 gearbox in 1987. Engine power was now up to 172 kW or 231 Hp. Zero to 100 km/h took 5.4 seconds and the top speed was 240km/h.

This specific car is a 1987 Carrera Targa with only 101000 miles on from new. The car is finished in Grand Prix white with black leather interior. The car is mainly original with very minor cosmetic detail changes over the years, apart from the colour coded Fuchs rims. There is a partial service history available, so a check-over and major service will be done before delivery. New tyres will also be fitted. There is an owner’s manual, spare keys, tools, spare wheel and compressor available.  This is a good example of this sought after 911 from the eighties!
