1971 Peugeot 504 Coupe
The Peugeot 504 was a front-engine, rear wheel-drive car manufactured and marketed from 1968 to 1983. The primary models were the four-door sedan and station wagon, but there was also a pickup, a two-door coupe and cabriolet.
The 504 Coupe was first seen at the 1969 Geneva Motor Show. The car was styled by designer and coachbuilder Pininfarina. The first engine used was the 1,8-litre 4-cylinder, taken from the sedan and fitted with Kugel Fischer fuel injection. It had independent suspension all round with disc brakes front and rear. The car was only available with a four-speed manual gearbox. The engine was later upgraded to the 2.0L and, although this increased power and made performance figures more than respectable, the 504 Coupe never claimed to be a sportscar. The car was extremely comfortable and very stable but, above all it was the styling of the car that made an impression! The car starred in various films and television series and definitely left its mark in the motoring world!
This specific car is a 1971 model with 80200 kms indicated and with a partial service history. The fuel injection has been discarded and replaced with a carburettor recently. The car drives beautifully, is mechanically sound and in a very nice cosmetic condition. If you are looking for an affordable, rare and beautiful classic sports car, this Peugeot will tick all the boxes!
