1970 Mini Moke

The Mini Moke is a small utility and recreational convertible. It was first manufactured as a lightweight military vehicle by British Motor Corporation and was later sold for civilian use under the Austin, Morris, Leyland and Moke brands. The name Mini Moke combines mini with moke , a bygone name for a mule! The Moke is known for its simplicity and for its adaptability.

This specific car is a 1970 Australian Moke. Starting in 1966 the Moke was manufactured in Australia and marketed as the Morris Mini Moke and later as the Leyland Moke. From 1968 the Australian Moke had 13-inch wheels with longer rear trailing arms. This made the car more practical and easier to use for gentle off and beach use. The solid metal seats were also replaced with tubular-frame “deck-chair “seats. This car has been refurbished and is finished in powder blue with light grey canvas roof and seats, complimented by 13-inch Minilite rims.

A unique and very different classic car for a truly eccentric person!
