1969 Porsche 911 E
The very first Porsche 911 was marketed as a luxury sports car and this very famous and distinctive design was introduced in autumn 1963. The shape basically stayed the same until 1989 when it was succeeded by the 964. The 964 was still sold as a 911, as are all current models.
The 911 was a rear engined and air-cooled car. The 911 was modified both by private teams and the factory itself for racing, rallying and other types of automotive competition. The 911 is being hailed as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included, like the very powerful 911-derived 935. This car won 24 Hours of Le Mans and other major sports cars races outright against prototypes. Pre-74 911’s came in three different model ranges namely a “T”, an “E” and the “S” version. Engine capacity changed from a 2,0L flat six cylinder in the early models to a 2,2L flat six cylinder and a 2,4L flat six cylinder in the last cars.
This specific car is a 1969, 2,2L 153Hp, Porsche 911 E Coupe. Mechanically the car is sound but cosmetically it needs attention. It has been “restored” and is very presentable but, to get the car perfect all the major cosmetical work will have to be redone.
Finished in Burgundy Red (Rennbow), this little 911 offers an exhilarating and a surprisingly fast drive! It will remind or introduce the driver to what a true sports car is supposed to feel like!
