1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 ½
The Jaguar E-Type was a British sports car, manufactured between 1961 and 1974.The combination of beautiful styling and explosive performance established the E-Type as an icon of the motoring world, with some proclaiming it to be the most beautiful car ever made! The car was distinguished by its unitary construction, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering and independent front and rear suspension, as well as a top speed of 241km/h and a sub 7 second zero to 100km/h time! The E-Type spurred industry-wide changes.
The original 3,8-litre engine was replaced by a 4.2-litre engine. The 4.2-litre engine produced the same power as the 3.8-litre and same top speed, but increased torque from 325Nm to 384Nm.
The Series 1 cars were followed by a series of car s built in 1967-1968 as model year 1968 cars, unofficially known as the Series 1 ½ cars. The car was cosmetically slightly different from a Series 1 car, with open headlights and adjustable seat backs the most noticeable changes. For the American market only the three SU carburetor manifold was changed to twin carburetors, resulting in a loss of horsepower.
This specific car is a 1967 Series 1 ½ car with 68 000 miles on the odometer. It has been restored to a very nice standard and is finished in Opalescent Silver blue metallic with beige interior.
