1965 Chevy Nova SS
The Chevy II Nova and Nova was manufactured by Chevrolet in America, in five generation from 1962 to 1979, and again from 1985 to 1988. The Chevy II nameplate was dropped in 1968, with Nova becoming the nameplate for all models from 1969 to 1979. The first cars were available with four-or six-cylinder engines and come in a 4-door sedan, a two-door sedan, a two-door hardtop, a cabriolet and a station wagon.
In 1965 the Chevy II and Nova were updated with a full-width front grill and integrated headlight bezels. Parking lights were moved to the bumper and the sedan gained a new roofline. Taillight were restyled, as was the rear cove. There were several other changes but for Chevy II enthusiasts, 1965 was know as the year the car became a muscle car with the addition of the 5,4L 327 cu Chevy V-8 engine. With 220kW available, the Nova SS performance was suddenly on par with the Pontiac GTO, the Oldsmobile 442 and the 271 hp Mustang!
This specific car is a 1965 4-door sedan with a Chevy 350 cu, 5,7 L V-8 engine. Finished in Nardo grey with a black roof and fitted with 17-inch American Racing rims, the car has been restored to a very nice level, both mechanically and cosmetically. Although not completely original, it must be one of the nicest cars available in South Africa.
