1971 BMW 2002 Coupe

The BMW 02 was a range of compact executive cars, produced by BMW from 1966 to 1977.

The 2002 was introduced in 1968 and marked the beginning of the sports-sedan era. The 2002 wasn’t the only car of that time that combined spots car agility with compact sedan practicality, but it was instantly recognized as the best!

The name 2002 stands for “two-liter, two-door sedan”. To create the car, BMW basically stuck a 2L engine into the 1602 bodyshell. The 1990cc M10 engine produced only 74kW but what the car lacked in tire-smoking acceleration it made up for elsewhere! Later models had more performance with the top of the range models being the fuel injection 2002 Tii and the much rarer 2002 Turbo.

This specific car is a 1971 2002 with a single downdraught carburetor. It is finished in stunning Colorado orange with black interior. It has 134,000kms on the clock but has clocked over. The car is a matching numbers and completely original car. It has been lovingly maintained.
