2011 BMW M1
BMW M-division knows a thing or two about creating exciting cars and with the 1 M the goal was more of the same! As the car was based on the entry level 1-series, the aim with the 1 M was not only to create a performance masterpiece, but also to keep costs low. Parts were sourced from other legendary M-cars; rear suspension came from the E92 M3, as well as the limited slip differential and brakes. The 3.0L twin turbo engine was taken from the Z4 35iS and produces an impressive 250kW with 500 Nm of torque available. This engine, fitted in a flared arched body, coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox with a limited slip diff and a perfect 50/50 weight distribution, all contributes to another very exiting BMW M-car!
This specific car is a 2011 BMW 1M with 40500 km on from new. It is finished in Valencia Orange over Dakota Black interior, which is complimented by orange stitching and bits of alcantara spread throughout the cabin. Its N54 engine is capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds, although it’s been tested to be roughly half a second quicker, and a top speed of 262 km/h!
Many people consider the 1M to be the best M car that BMW has produced and, in a world where cars are becoming larger, more restricted and adopting more autonomous characteristics, it comes as no surprise to see the BMW 1M being so sought-after. This is a great opportunity to own a piece of this company’s rich history!
