The first version of the Mini was shown to the press in April 1959 and officially announced to the public in August of the same year. The Mark II was launched at the 1967 British Motor Show. It had a larger grille, a larger rear window, and numerous other cosmetic changes. John Cooper, owner of the Cooper Car Company and designer and builder of Formula One racing cars saw the potential for the Mini as a racing car. He appealed to the BMC management and was allowed to create the Mini Cooper. The Austin Mini Cooper and the Morris Mini Cooper debuted in September 1961.

This specific car is a 1965 Mk1 Morris Cooper S with the 1275cc engine. The car was restored in 2014 to a very high standard and is finished in striking Tartan red with a black roof roof. It has competition bucket seats, disc brakes and a beautiful wood rimmed Moto Lita steering wheel. The interior is red with very rare grey and gold brocade inserts. A set of period correct Mini Lite rims completes the stunning looks of this little car!

A beautiful example of the iconic Mini Cooper, representing true British motoring history!
