The second generation of the Ford F-Series was produced between was produced between 1953 and 1956. It was marketed as the “Triple Economy” series and this generation saw a revision of the normal F-Series nomenclature, changing from a one-digit model number to a three-digit number. This system has remained in use on all F-Series trucks to the present day.
This specific truck is a 1956 F-100 pick-up. The truck was completely built up from a bare shell a few year ago. No expenses were spared, and the result is a well sorted and striking Ford pick-up! The engine is a 5.8L 351 Cleveland V8. In the standard guise, these engines produced 224kW, but this engine has been completely rebuilt and stage 2 camshafts were fitted. A custom manifold and exhaust system with a 4-barrel Holey carburettor ensures a few more horses! Suspension and disc breaks from a Mustang and the three-speed automatic box was completely reconditioned. A custom built aluminium radiator with an electric fan prevents overheating. Mercedes-Benz electric seats were fitted. All the dash gauges are new, and a beautiful chrome steering column and gear selector was fitted. The car also has a nice sound system. All the chrome work has been redone and the loading bin is wood lined. A stunning set of 20-inch American Racing wheels completes the look.
