The Porsche Cayenne is a mid-size luxury crossover, manufactured by Porsche since 2002. The name Cayenne is derived from cayenne peppers, a moderately hot chilli pepper used to flavour food dishes. The first models were known as the E1. It was the first V8 engine Porsche produced since the last Porsche 928 in 1995. It was also the first Porsche with four doors and the first Porsche off-road variant vehicle since the Super and Junior tractors of the 1950s!

This specific car is a second generation E1, and more specifically a Cayenne S Transsyberia. The Transsyberia was originally a racing vehicle, designed for the Transsyberia Rally. The street version was later built to commemorate Porsche’s victory in this rally. It was only available with the 405Hp or 302kW, direct injection 4.8L V8 engine from the Cayenne GTS. The targeted production run was for only 600 cars worldwide but far fewer were finally built. Sales started in January 2009 and continued in 2010.
