2009 Porsche Boxster S Design Edition (987)

The second generation of the Boxster made its debut at the 2004 Paris Motor Show and became available in 2005.

In appearance the car remains very similar to the previous generation. The most obvious styling changes are the headlights, larger side intake vents and enlarged wheel arches to allow wheels up to 19 inches in diameter. The most significant updates from the 986 series are in the interior, with a more prominent circular theme evident in the instrument cluster and cooling vents. The base engine is a 2.7L, 176kW, 236Hp flat-six boxer engine, with the Boxster S getting a 3.2L 206kW 276Hp engine. For 2007 the base Boxster received a revised engine featuring VarioCam Plus, the Boxster S engine was upgraded from 3.2L to 3.4L.

This specific car is a 2009 Porsche Boxster Design Edition 2 with only 28 000kms on from new. In this car the 3,4L engine develops 223kW, or 303Hp. This is 8Hp more than the standard S models and is largely due to the special sports exhaust system. The cars were only available in Carrara white, offset by distinctive grey decals on the bonnet, boot and on the side of the cars. Taillights were all red, as on the RS60 and the car came with beautiful white 19-inch alloy rims. The side intakes and center console are painted white, and the car also has white dials.

The Boxster S Design Edition was a limited numbers car with only 500 of these spectacular cars made worldwide, this number 20/500! A very exciting and one of the best sounding Boxster S available.
