1997 Porsche Boxster (986)
The Porsche Boxster was introduced in late 1996 as a 1997 model. It was the first Porsche to be designed as a roadster since the Porsche 550 Spyder which was introduced in 1953. The name “Boxster” was derived from the words: Boxer (referring to the engine layout) and roadster (referring to the body style). The early Boxster came with a 2.5L flat six and the Boxster S with a 3.2L flat six.
This specific car is a 1997 Boxster with 90 000 km on from new and a comprehensive service history. It is finished in Guards red with black interior. The Boxster 2,5L 6-cylinder engine produces 150kW. This car has the Tiptronic gearbox, and it accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 7,4 seconds with a top speed of 235km/h. Thanks to the Boxster’s mid-mounted engine, the car is incredibly well balanced with a near perfect weight distribution. The engine in the middle also means that there is space for two storage compartments front and rear, making this a fun yet practical sports car.
The Porsche Boxster is arguably the best roadster ever made, and this little car is testament to the qualities of a true roadster!
