The Land Rover series I, II and III were off-road vehicles produced by Rover from 1948. The car was inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep and are commonly referred to as series Land Rovers. The Land Rover was the first mass-produced civilian four-wheel drive car with doors. Land Rovers had a reputation for being very robust cars and in 1992 Land Rover claimed that more than 70% of all the cars they produced were still on the road!

This particular car is a very nice example of a Series I Land Rover short wheelbase, or 86 inch, as they were known. It is a 1954 model with a partial service history available.  It is not a numbers match car. The chassis number indicates it is a 1954 but the engine is the 2286cc, (commonly known as the 2 ¼) petrol engine from a later model Series III car. The car was subject to a nut and bolt restoration to a very high level. The attention to detail is astonishing and the car drives like a dream!

A great opportunity to own a beautifully restored Series Land Rover, an iconic British off-road vehicle!
